Vichy Elementary
About the program:
Vichy Elementary School is a K-5 California Distinguished School with an enrollment of 400 students. Our school's Academic Performance Index (API) for 2012 is 901 and is in the top 5% of all California schools and one of the highest in all of Napa Valley. Our school is committed to providing the best possible learning environment to meet the needs of all students. Academic excellence is emphasized where a balanced curriculum of skills-based and project-based learning are at the heart of our academic program.
We believe that learning requires hard work, but with meaningful curriculum activities, learning can be lots of fun. Our classroom curriculum integrates the arts and technology and is enriched by educational assemblies, field trips and a comprehensive arts program sponsored by the Vichy Arts Council. Our school includes a Library Media Center and Technology Laboratory where students are introduced to essential research and technology tools and skills. The Vichy curriculum provides many opportunities for project-based activities that make learning meaningful to our students. We believe that our curriculum and teaching strategies are important, and with students, teachers, staff, and parents working together, we can provide a quality educational program for all children.
