Seussical (All Ages)

Seussical (All Ages)

A co-production between Napa Valley College Performing Arts and Cafeteria Kids Theater.

The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.

Now one of the most performed shows in America, Seussical is a fantastical, magical, musical extravaganza! Tony winners, Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty (Lucky Stiff, My Favorite Year, Once on This Island, Ragtime), have lovingly brought to life all of our favorite Dr. Seuss characters, including Horton the Elephant, The Cat in the Hat, Gertrude McFuzz, lazy Mayzie and a little boy with a big imagination – Jojo. The colorful characters transport us from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos.

Direction and Choreography by Olivia Cowell | Music Direction by Dr. Christina Howell

Performance Dates: 11/15-11/22
Friday at 7pm | Saturday and Sunday at 2pm

Location: Napa Valley College Performing Arts Center, MainStage

Tickets: Adult $25, Student/Senior/Military $20, Youth (under 12) $15, Group of 15 or more $15

Please note: The role of JoJo is double cast. Double cast performance dates are as follows: Lauren Lombardi 11/16, 11/22, 11/24 + Zoe Passaris 11/15, 11/17, 11/23

Plus, we’re collecting gifts for Expressions for Hope Napa, ensuring that the spirit of giving shines bright this holiday season.

Join us for a magical ride that has kept the joy alive for over 30 years. Gather your loved ones, hop on the Santa Train, and embark on a journey filled with laughter, love, and holiday magic!

ITINERARY

4:00 PM | YOUR JOURNEY BEGINS

The festivities begin at McKinstry Street Station. At check-in, you’re greeted by a group of merry carolers and a welcome cup of hot cider. While you wait, you fill out your holiday wishlist, dropping it off at the mailing station before grabbing a photo with Mrs. Claus and Santa. Parents looking for an adult sip before their journey can purchase wine and refreshments at the café.

5:25 - 5:30 PM | BOARDING CALL

The train whistle calls and boarding begins. On your way aboard, you take advantage of another photo opportunity with Santa on the platform before making your merry way.

6:10 PM | TIME TO DEPART

The train gently pulls you forward, departing the station. It’s the beginning of a magical rail line adventure to usher in the season with your nearest and dearest.

8:00 PM | FAREWELL FOR NOW

After a jolly journey along the festive Wine Train route, you return to the station. Before you depart, you pick up your photos, each commemorating a special moment you won’t soon forget.
